Praeter Engineering Limited have successfully completed the final post-tensioned installation on Level 67 of the South Quay Plaza 1 project, ahead of tender programme, on behalf of Expanded Structures Limited for Berkeley Group.

South Quay Plaza 1 (SQP1) utilises post-tensioning throughout the superstructure floor plates from levels 1 through to level 67, Level 68 being a constructed from steelwork. Praeter and WSP developed the design for the structure to maximise the efficiencies that post-tensioning can offer. As you can see from the photos (main elevation taken from Level 58 on One Park Drive) what a striking addition to the Canary Wharf/Isle of Dogs skyline this building is!

Praeter also carried out the torqueing of all of the crane ties during construction and will shortly be back on site to remove these.
